Managing Veterinarian

Interstate Veterinary Hospital is looking to add a Managing Veterinarian to our amazing team! Our 2-doctor practice opened its doors in 1975 and for decades we’ve utilized modern equipment, continued education, and multiple certified veterinary technicians and assistants to help serve our loyal and extensive clientele. We are a predominantly small animal practice but do support a small portion of large animal and equine services. We continue to evolve as the need for veterinary care changes and strive to be the best providers in our community.

We are looking for an experienced veterinarian to come lead our successful practice. We enjoy a wonderful work environment that allows us to prioritize high quality care. Our practice is collaborative, well-organized, and well-equipped so that you will have no issues ensuring it continues to be efficiently run. Our team treats one another like family and we are so excited to welcome our next MDVM with open arms!

Veterinary Technician

Essential Functions:

  • Able to perform basic animal handling and restraint
  • Be able to accurately position for radiographs
  • Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery
  • Perform in-hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for outside labs
  • Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights as well as providing client education
  • Collect and prepare diagnostic samples
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Assist in maintaining practice equipment
  • Assist veterinarian performing surgery
  • Assist veterinarians in any other assigned tasks
  • Maintain cleanliness of surgery suite, treatment area, and exams rooms for all surfaces
  • Support DEA compliance as it relates to the role
  • Preferred certification in the State of WI
  • Any other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Previous veterinary medicine experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 40 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 40 pounds with assistance
  • Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
  • Computer skills, MS office applications, etc.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Experience:

  • Veterinary: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Veterinary Technician Certification (Preferred)
